In this very inspiring book Mansukh Patel and Helena Waters draw on their wealth of experience in working with people through the power of Dru Yoga, Dru Meditation. The book is divided in sections relating to the different ages of life and what we experience in from the cradle to the grave.
The book is packed with information about how to deal with issues such as loss of a loved one, menopause, using the power of Dru Yoga to heal.
The authors refreshingly refer to these ‘crisis points’ as miracle points – ie, using these difficult times as opportunities to grow.
The book is beautifully illustrated with real life stories. I was particularly moved by the story of James who tragically found himself in prison after committing manslaughter. Mansukh Patel’s narrative of this section is very touching. It describes how he entered into the ‘darkness’ of what he’d done and even considered taking his own life, and how he transformed his pain through the help of Dru Yoga and meditation. Mansukh describes how he was able to come to a point of acceptance and forgiveness, so much so that he started to teach these techniques to fellow prisoners – quite an achievement in what is normally considered to be a male macho hostile environment.
Mansukh Patel shows how the power of Dru Yoga and Dru meditation had helped James so much he was able to inspire others even in the most challenging of environments.
When I first read this book I was studying for an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and as part of my course we reviewed 3 books. I chose Crisis and the Miracle of Love as one of my books and would certainly recommend it to fellow counsellors and therapist to use with their clients.
